A TOWN centre lane was closed after reports of a serious assault on Friday.
Officers closed Jackson's Lane at around 8.30pm to investigate allegations, which later proved to be false.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Police were alerted to a possible serious assault having taken place on Jackson's Lane on Friday evening. As a result of this report the lane was sealed off for a thorough investigation to be conducted."
The spokeswoman added that following inquiries it was found the allegation was false and the lane was reopened at around 11.40pm.
