LLANDEILO Town beat Ammanford Town 1-0 in the West Wales Youth League.
Llandeilo looked to impose their free-flowing football on the visitors but were a little slow from the opening whistle.
The visitors caused the early scares but their early attacks led to nothing as they came up against a resolute defence.
As the half progressed Llandeilo grew in confidence with some impressive attacks on the Ammanford goal and it wasn't long before the visiting defence was breached as the excellent Luke Herman finished off an impressive move to put the home side one up.
Llandeilo's confidence grew as they asked questions of the Ammanford defence, but some good goalkeeping kept the score down to 1-0 at the break.
The second half started as the first ended as Llandeilo continued their impressive passing game and pinned Ammanford back. But the home side lacked a cutting edge in the final third that would have increased their lead.
Llandeilo were still victim to the odd counter but the home defence stood firm and on the odd occasion it was breached goalkeeper Dafydd Jones stood firm between the sticks.
The home sides began to play some good football, with midfielder Owain Binding integral to most of the attacks.
Llandeilo were worthy of their first win of the season.
This week Llandeilo travel to Camford.
Llandeilo Town are sponsored by Llandeilo Kebab House.
