THERE was no stopping Bro Myrddin at home to Llangennech, the Johnstown outfit romping to a 44-18 victory.

It lifts them up to fourth in the Dinefwr and District Ladies' Bowls League.

Bro's Avril Rees, Anne Pugh and Sandra Thomas won their rink two contest by 15 woods.

Cross Hands are still at the bottom and were whitewashed 31-22 when hosting Stradey, though very unlucky to finish pointless.

On rink one Cross Hands skip Gwlithyn Thomas led 13-12, but Stradey's Barbara Griffiths nipped in to register two scoring woods to overtake Thomas on the last end.

Leaders Ammanford didn't have a game, so their lead is now only four points over Stradey, with Carmarthen a point behind in third spot.

Hosts Carmarthen came up against an in-form Llandeilo side, who have put in a decent run of wins of late. It came as no surprise when Llandeilo returned home with a 32-26 victory under their belts.

Carmarthen's Thelma Evans, Nelda Davies and Jean Taylor experienced a roller-coaster ride on rink one where they surged into a 14-7 lead, before Llandeilo skip Sara Nichols rallied to level at 14-14 with one end left.

Taylor regained her form and guided in an all-important single scoring wood to win the rink contest 15-14.
